DOCTOR BELDEN'S OFFICE

A good community doctor's office does not tell secrets.  But a good staff knows the secrets.  We document these secrets.  If you want to read about them, we cannot help that you picked up the loose file.

Please enjoy what you find out here and PLEASE keep everything confidential here in Sleepyside.

Have a nice day.

Hi.  My name is Tammy and if you cannot tell, this is definitely a work-in-progress.  I've been a member of the wonderful group of women (and our "token" male) called Jixemitri for over 10 years.  We have a favored place for the world of Trixie Belden and the other Bob-Whites of the Glen.

My fascination with these books began nearly 40 years ago when I plucked a book from my mom's Minnesota home bookshelf.  I was bored stiff and the mosquitoes were horrid.  Then, I read the Red Trailer Mystery.  I was hooked.  I bought or was given all 16 of the books available at the time.  Later when I was in high school,  I was wandering through the book store and saw my childhood obsession.  But now there were more books.  I regret now that I didn't get them all but at least I filled in a few more of the books.

Ahhh, but then came the internet.  I found fanfiction.  Now don't get me wrong.  I'm old enough that I had found Star Trek fanfiction a long time before.  Heck, I have books from the early 1970s that were basically Bonanza fanfiction.  But now, any television show I watched as a child was open to me, from anywhere in the world.  I found Adam-12 and Emergency fiction.  I even tried my hand at some Gage and DeSoto stories.  So, if TV shows were available then what about my favorite books?   That's when I found Jix and Zap's.  I've dabbled with my Jixemitri stories at home, briefly trying a story idea with some of the other writers.  But I wasn't brave enough to share, except for one simple story I placed at Zap's, until a challenge on the Jixemitri site made it simple to put some of the notions together.   Hopefully, I'll get more of the story together.  If you do like these stores, please join in at Jixemitri and find other, much better writers, but please leave me a message in the Fiction Feedback area.

Please understand the stories here and on the Jixemitri site and Zap's are written only for the love of the original books.  No money has been made or will be made from these stories.  There is the hope that these stories will promote an ongoing interest in these stories of a different time.

Trixie Belden Stories

There were 39 books written about Trixie Belden and her friends who lived in Sleepyside New York.  Trixie was a "harum-scarum tomboy" who had two older brothers and a younger brother.  She had chores to do and lived far enough from town to not have close friends in the neighborhood.  Her family was loving though and her only wish was to have a horse.

Her luck changed when horses came to the nearby empty mansion.  With them came a best friend named Honey Wheeler who was the required poor, little rich girl.  The two soon found a runaway at a nearby empty home and, thus,  Jim Frayne ended up living a much different life than the one he had left.

They along with brothers Brian and Mart Belden, a former friend reunited with Trixie named Diana Lynch, and a bad boy gone good named Dan Mangan became the Bob-Whites of the Glen.  Aged between 13 and 17 (or so - there were some issues with consistency in the books), the BWGs solved crimes.  Originally written in 1948, the books then numbered 16.  In the mid '70s, 23 more books were added to the series.  The inconsistencies continued to mount and finally no more books were added to the series.

But true fans converged on the internet.  Two groups still exist  -- Zaps' and Jixemitri.  We adults who enjoy the series still will tell you we learned things in the books that made us smarter than our years when we were young.  My stories are of their adult lives, when life and love are part of day to day life.  I am in the middle of a universe (a set of stories that are their own story line).  I also have a page that links to snippets I have written to prompts posted daily on the Jixemitri site.

I am not a professional author.  I am just a fan who is trying to write my version of their continued life.  I hope you enjoy.  I receive no moneys for any of my writing on this site.  Random House owns all rights to these characters.  I'm just playing for my own entertainment (and maybe yours).

Thank you for visiting my site.  Below are buttons to take you to my Trixie Belden stories.

This page has a listing of a set of stories that make up a universe.  The stories are mostly eompleted

but the universe is in progress.    It has to do with the Belden family and a secret hidden even from

them.  The first story is passworded due to mature subject matter.  Please contact me (see  site title

page for email address).  Include birthdate.

My original story posted to Zap's.  Two Bob-Whites take a trip to Las Vegas.  Sometimes, what happens

in Vegas, doesn't stay in Vegas.

These are very short bits written using miscellaneous prompts posted on the Jixemitri site.  They

may or may not be used in my universe.
