HARRY POTTER HOME

 

As a forty some year old, I didn't take to the series with the first book I tried to read.  I put it away and forgot about it.  Well, about the time the sixth movie was being filmed, I had a lot of time on my hands and I had my daughter's first 3 movies of the series on DVD.  Surprise, surprise.  I enjoyed the movies.  So, being the voracious reader I am, I started reading the books.  I loved the story.  

 

I have read some fantastic Harry Potter fan fiction on the web.  I have read a lot of stinkers.  Hopefully, the stories I add here will fall in between but at least better than average.  I am a traditionalist (big surprise, huh?) but I adore Ron Weasley and his family.  Being a mom, I think sometimes of how the parents had to feel when they were again faced with war and this time finding their children were at the center of much of the action.

 

Again, JK Rowling created the story but whet my appetite.  I own nothing of the franchise (darn it anyway) and only write to keep the voices in my head from screaming at me at times.  If you enjoy these, great.  If not, I truly understand.  I don't get Dramione or Harmione or slash.  JK threw me for a loop with her comments about Ron and Hermione.  My thoughts are at 18, all of the young people in the war still had some growing up to do.  Ron would gain confidence and Hermione would learn to relax and use tact.  I don't think they would need a professional therapist.  They would learn how to bring the best out in each other on their own.
