PROMPT -  There was nothing better, she thought, snuggling deeper under her comforter, than a morning without an alarm clock and love on the horizon.

The sun was shining through the small slits in the blind, just enough to lighten the room. It was Saturday. Saturday. No plans for the day. There was nothing better, she thought, snuggling deeper under her comforter, than a morning without an alarm clock and love on the horizon. She turned onto her back and thought back to last night.

The party had begun at eight and he was there. What a surprise! They had avoided each other over the last few years, attending many of the same family events but being sure to keep from being alone with each other. But last night, with no family around, they unexpectedly found themselves alone for a time. And it was good. Conversation was slow at first, comments about family, friends, but soon the talk turned to their lives. They both knew what the other had been doing, because of their common relationships, but it was so good to hear each other's thoughts on everything and everyone. It took little time to overcome the roadblocks they had themselves set up for their relationship.

It seemed so natural to be together that they went to an all-night diner to continue talking after the party broke up and everyone left the bar. Around three, they were both yawning and set out to leave. He grabbed a taxi for her and gave her one of his "patented" bear hugs. "I'll see you Monday night then?" he whispered in her hair.

She had smiled and nodded quietly. "Are you going to tell anyone about us? I mean, I like the idea of us getting together, but I think we're going to be bombarded with questions and well-meaning help once they know."

He leaned back and grinned. "So, we should be mysterious?" She could see his eyes twinkling as he imagined pulling one over on their friends. "Yea. Let's just keep it between us. I'm betting we can go six months before they start wondering."

She pinched him. "You'll probably give it away just by smiling, but okay. We'll keep it a seecrud." He hugged her tightly again and helped her into the cab. She turned and waved as the cab pulled away from the curb. He was wearing a smile reminiscent of the one he wore the first time she said she'd go out with him.

She lay there in the bed, rerunning the whole night. It had been great once but neither of them were where they had wanted to be in life. There was nothing to hold them back this time. They would keep it quiet and rebuild their relationship. Life was good and the future looked even better!
